Our Grigio del Casentino pigs, the result of crossing Large White with Cinta Senese pigs, is an animal with an excellent nutritional balance and a meat rich in healthy fats and incomparable taste.
The highest quality of our products depends mainly on the extensive breeding and our meat processing method. We do not use preservatives, dyes, artificial flavorings or glutamate because Grigio del Casentino® meat is perfect just as it is and adding anything else would imply the contamination of a taste that’s naturally exceptional.
Processing too is an art. For our cured and cooked meat we follow the traditional recipes and we recreate the taste of the past with healthy, genuine, selected ingredients, just a few of them but always the best.
Grigio del Casentino® meat is a pleasure and an enjoyment, an authentic experience for your senses. Our pigs are raised in a semi free range for at least 14 months, with a natural feeding in their natural habitat. Their meat is tasty and genuine, with a perfect balance between fat and lean meat.

Our pigs are raised in a semi free range in Casentino, in an extensive and short production line. Our animals grow in peace between pastures and woods. Most of the time, they feed on what nature has to offer; in addition, we selected a natural specific supplement of cereals and legumes.
From the woods to the table, for all the time that nature requires: that’s the only secret for a tastier, ethical and sustainable meat. And the traceability is total: we follow the life of our pigs from the day of birth to the butchering, in a closed and virtuous circle.
We respect our animals and the rhythm of nature, hassle-free and without any forcing. We don’t rush the natural flow of time and we only slaughter pigs that are at least 14-months-old, which means they have already seen a complete seasonal cycle.
Time is an important ingredient for this meat. Every season offers different feeding to our pigs. Chestnuts, acorns, roots, seeds and wild herbs instill their aromas to the meat. Pork is an “inexhaustible cupboard” for delicacies:everything can be used, nothing is wasted. And here in Casentino, native land of these pigs, this philosophy belongs to the farming culture and to the local culinary tradition. Our aim is to build a link with the past – a time when pork meat had a taste that’s beyond words – and help people discover again all its cuts and all its different recipes.
We raise our pigs just as farmers here in Casentino would have done once. We are not interested in aesthetically perfect slices, chemical compromises and high yield. Our grandparents are our paradigm: the butchering was a ceremony, the sacrifice of the animals was celebrated. They knew that meat is a precious gift that cannot be wasted, because all pork meat has an inestimable value to be respected.
